The MOC7811 Slotted Opto-Isolator is a slotted optical sensor with an IR LED emitter and phototransistor receiver facing each other across a 3mm-wide, 7mm-deep slot. When an object passes through the slot it interrupts the IR beam, changing the phototransistor output state. Used for rotary encoder position sensing, motor speed measurement, and object detection.
